Auction Antique Appraisal

Answers to Frequently Asked Questions
I have antiques that I would like to put up for auction, but I don’t know to come to a price. I don’t want to sell myself short, or ask too much and not be able to sell it at all. I can’t afford to have them appraised.
The best way to estimate a fair price for something (when you don’t want to involve an appraiser) is at an auction. This could be on eBay or at your local auction house.
As they say water seeks it’s own level….and collectors usually spot the good things at an auction.

Often you can find similar items on eBay and get an idea of the going price… Remember to look at items that have bids or have sold…not the price of ongoing auctions that have no bids. |

You can research closing prices on successful eBay auctions at Terapeak.com.
Remember, with eBay, your bidders are looking for a bargain. Perceived value to a potential buyer means pricing it (at least
initially) below its appraised value.
