Background Color
Some auction sites allow you to specify the background color of your ad. This is done using the
tag. You would of course subsitute (color) with the color of your choice.
There are two ways of doing this. You can simply type a common color name like
which will work for most browsers. Another option which will give you more flexibility in choosing your colors is to use the hexadecimal code.
The tag
will yield a white background. By now you are probably saying, “O.K. knucklehead, how am I supposed to know what the colors and their corresponding hexadecimal codes are?!?!?!?” No problem, just check out our handy color chart to see the colors and their codes. Bookmark it to keep it handy for future reference.
Note that a closing tag:
is not required.

Font Sizes
You can select the size of the font in a similar manner. The Tag will do this for you. Here’s a table with several examples of different font sizes:
| Font Size 1 | Font Size 1 |
| Font Size 2 | Font Size 2 |
| Font Size 3 | Font Size 3 |

| Font Size 5 | Font Size 5 |
| Font Size 6 | Font Size 6 |
Font Colors
Changing font colors can be done in a similar manner. Use the tag. Like the background color tag above, you can use either a name of a common color or its hexadecimal equivalent in place of color in the tag above. Here are a couple of quick examples for this tag:
| Example 1 | Example 1 |
| Example 2 | Example 2 |
| Example 3 | Example 3 |
