According to a study published in the book Contemporary Research in E-Marketing Volume II, there is no statistical difference between Dealers and private sellers in the final sale price of autos sold on eBay Motors. In the chapter entitled “An Examination of Consumer Behavior on eBay Motors” by Professors Mark P. Sena and Gerald Braun of Xavier University, analyzed a sample of 126 vehicle transactions on eBay Motors in which 71% of the cars sold were listed by automobile dealerships.
